The Scholars selection process will begin immediately after the university acceptance decisions are made on or before January 30th. Please note that eligibility for the Thomas jefferson Scholars Program does not guarantee university admission.
The Application forms are online.
The deadline for submitting the application form is February 14, 2014.
How to Apply
Each year, approximately fifteen outstanding high school seniors are chosen to participate in the Jefferson Scholars Program. The application process starts with filling in the online application form.
The application includes
1) writing an essay about your interest in the Program,
2) submitting an evaluation from a teacher or counselor or other school official, and
3) providing a school transcript.
You will receive email confirmation of your completed application, so please check your email for it and let us know if you encounter a problem.
We will invite a set of finalists to visit the campus on Saturday, March 1st for an interview. The visit is also a good opportunity to meet current Jeffersonians, and find out more about their activities. The new class of Jefferson Scholars will be notified of acceptance shortly after the visit.
The Jefferson Scholars enter the College of Agriculture & Life Sciences. Once enrolled, and before the second year of study, they also declare a major for a degree in the College of Humanities & Social Sciences. Successful participation in the Program leads to scholarship support for continuing students.
