Remembering Dr. Jon Brandt, 1947-2012

Dr. Jon Brandt, head of the Department of Agricultural and Resource Economics, died unexpectedly at his home Monday, November 26, 2012. He was 65. He had served CALS and NC State with a passionate dedication, and was the longest-standing department head in the college.  His presence is greatly missed.
To The CALS Family:

Jon Brandt was head of the Department of Agricultural and Resource Economics at NC State University since December 1991. He taught a career seminar course to undergraduates and was actively engaged in all phases of departmental administration. Prior to coming to NC State, Brandt was Professor of Agricultural Economics at the University of Missouri and Co-Director of the Food and Agricultural Policy Research Institute (FAPRI). His research, teaching, and extension interests were in the areas of commodity modeling, policy, livestock marketing, and consumer demand (with emphasis on meats).

Please keep Jon's family in your hearts and prayers as they go through this very difficult time.
