Welcome to the Agricultural Institute!
The Agricultural Institute (AGI) is part of the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences (CALS) at NC State. Its primary purpose is to provide students with the practical experience needed to be productive in the many careers within the Agricultural Industry. At the Agricultural Institute you'll focus your studies on nine possible majors and hundreds of career opportunities; and you'll be armed with a 2-year Associate of Applied Science Degree to hit the ground running.
While the Agricultural Institute is relatively small, it is large in achievement! It is nationally recognized as a leader in the agricultural sciences. And, bigger isn't always better! We are truly a family here at the Agricultural Institute, and you will feel that in the one-on-one interaction you will have with faculty and staff and the special bond you will create with like-minded students. Our faculty, staff and administration will work very hard to help you achieve your academic goals...because, as part of the Agricultural Institute family, your success is our greatest concern.
Whether you need to hone your skills in a specific specialty to prepare yourself to jump into the agricultural workforce, get ready to start your own business or get back to the family farm, the Agricultural Institute will prepare you with the expertise and know-how you'll need to make an effective difference.
