AMP: Amplify My Potential

Amplify my Potential, or AMP, is a new program we are offering to our students. The mission of AMP is to provide development opportunities for Agricultural Institute first-year students to help them recognize their potential and create a positive change within themselves, the school community, and the world. The program will allow students to build relationships with each other and the faculty and staff at NCSU as well as begin to build a professional network.

The program is offered during the fall semester and kicks-off with a  retreat filled with workshops and fun events!  Some of the workshops include topics such as identifying personal strengths, leadership, and teamwork. Students also complete a community service project, participate in the AGI Club and work with AGI Ambassadors. Upon the completion of the AMP program students receive a certificate that looks great on resumes. This is also a great way for students to meet industry representatives and help lead them into a career.

The first cohort of AMP students are already seeing positive results. According to Emilee Craft, one of the AMP students, the most valuable part has been "meeting new people who are interested in the same leadership opportunities," and that she has really valued learning to become a stronger leader. Another AMP student, Adam Lemay, says that, "Being a freshman can sometimes make it challenging to make new friends, but this program made it a breeze through team-building exercises and doing things like bowling." We are really excited about this new program and all that it has to offer students and look forward to continuing the program for years to come.

Students are able to join the AMP program in the fall semester.  Information regarding the events is sent out to the students through email and in AGI 101.  If you would like to be a part of this program or learn more, please contact Alyssa Degreenia, AMP Coordinator at
