About the Agribusiness Management Degree
Agriculture in the 21st century is a complex, multifaceted and cutting-edge industry ranging from farm production to food processing to retailing, all dealing with the fundamentals of business activity---economics, management, marketing, sales, finance, law, labor, policy and international trade. The Agricultural Business Management major prepares students for managerial positions in ag-related businesses. Specific examples of jobs could include farm manager, animal health sales, agricultural lobbyist, agricultural importer/exporter, advertising specialist, plant nursery manager, animal processing facility manager, grain elevator operator, and many others.
The academic program combines core knowledge in agricultural business and economics with skill building in animal production and management, crop production, pest management, equipment maintenance, and possibly landscape and nursery management to give students a well-rounded education in the businesses of agriculture.
