My research interests relate to water and water resources. I have a PhD in ecology and evolutionary biology from the University of Illinois and have been at NCSU for ten years. My research laboratory, F.E.A.S. (Fisheries, Ecology, and Aquatic Sciences) focuses on ecology, conservation and environmental toxicology in aquatic systems. As an administrator I oversee various academic programs in the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences (CALS) including CALS Honors, the Thomas Jefferson Scholars, Distance Education and summer school. I have led several international programs associated with water resources over the last several years and have taken students to Uganda and Belize in addition to work in Korea, Japan and elsewhere.
