Jonathan Allen has been a faculty member at NC State for more than 25 years, with major emphasis in research and teaching related to exercise and sport nutritioninfant and maternal nutrition, energy and macronutrient metabolism, food fortification and processing, and nutritional biochemistry and physiology related to health and disease outcomes. He has co-authored over 81 research publications and 150 abstracts. As Coordinator of the Interdepartmental Nutrition Program, and Director of Graduate Programs for Food Science and Nutrition, he has advised more than 125 graduate students in Master and Doctoral degrees, including students from China, Japan, Indonesia, Costa Rica, Columbia, St. Croix, Ghana, Malawi, Turkey, Iran, Saudi Arabia, India and Pakistan. He is currently advising student who are completing research projects in Malawi, Kenya, and Pakistan.
