Are you starting to feel the pressures of finding a job after graduation? Whether you are an undergraduate or a graduate student, April brings the sudden realization that graduation is in one month. We want to take the time to help you organize yourself, become acquainted with the latest job search methods, and prepare for upcoming interviews.
The Get Hired workshop is developed and presented by current students at NC State who are graduating with either a Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree. They know firsthand what it is like to be part of the job search, what it entails, and how to master it. The presentation is designed to be humorous yet delivers the facts. It is separated into 3 steps: 1. Preparing for the job search, 2. Finding Job Opportunities, and 3. Getting the Job. Through these steps students will become aware of the skills they posses and how to match those with the skills employers seek, the #1 way people find jobs, how to conduct a job search, how to polish a resume and prepare for an interview, and what to do after receiving an offer. You don’t have to be a graduating senior to benefit from this workshop. The future is inevitable, and if you aren’t graduating this semester, chances are you will be sometime soon! Even if you are planning to apply to a professional or graduate school, backup plans are always important. Learn what to plan for when entering the world of job searching at Get Hired!
