This application provides information which will be used by the Scholarship and Awards Committee of the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences (CALS) at North Carolina State University in making scholarship awards to CALS students. To assure that you will be considered for these scholarships, please read the following instructions and complete the application that is appropriate for your status.

Instructions For Entering Freshman

You cannot apply for a CALS scholarship until you have been accepted for admission by the University.

CALS scholarships are available to entering freshmen based on academic merit, financial need and most often, a combination of both merit and need. In order to be considered for any CALS scholarship for which financial need is a factor or for other financial aid, entering freshmen are encouraged to complete a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) as soon after January 1 as possible. This application is available at high school guidance offices, from the NCSU Office of Scholarships and Financial Aid, and via the link above.

Applications for scholarships and awards from CALS will be accepted at any time. However, for priority consideration, your application should be submitted no later than March 1st for the following academic year, which begins in August.

Please note that most College scholarships and awards are determined in the spring and summer for the academic year that begins the following August. Only students who receive a scholarship or award will be contacted.
