Student Profiles
Deciding to attend NC State was one of the best decisions I could have ever made! CALS truly became my home away from home as soon as I stepped foot inside Patterson Hall. I became a CALS Ambassador to give back to the college that does so much for me. Agronomy Club and Young Farmers & Ranchers helped me to network with students who share my passion for agriculture. I encourage everyone to get involved in CALS and be part of our family. Soon my classmates and I will be the next generation of agriculturists feeding, fueling and clothing our world — and that's a good thing. My name is Cara Ruth Pace, a senior in Agricultural Business Management with minors in Crop Science and Horticulture, and I believe in the future of agriculture .

When I decided to major in horticulture, NC State was my only choice. Now I’m a senior in the Horticulture Department, and I've enjoyed every moment. I've been able to do so much more than sit in class and do homework. What's made my time in CALS so special are the opportunities I've had outside the classroom — and the friends I've made as a result of those experiences. From being a part of the Horticulture Club to serving as a teaching assistant to truly amazing internships to undergraduate research — they've all made my college experience far more enjoyable and diverse than I ever could have expected. I’m happy to say that while being here I've made friends with the people sitting next to me in class as well as the professors teaching us . My name is Bryan Byers, and I am a senior in Horticulture with a minor in Agricultural Business Management.
