Vice- Dean of International Programs from the University of Zagreb, Croatia Visits

April 3-7, 2017

NC State University received the visit of Dr. Renata Bažok, Professor of Entomology and Vice-Dean of International Programs at the Faculty of Agriculture, University of Zagreb, Croatia. During her visit, Dr. Bažok met with various members of the CALS faculty to discuss future collaborations between NC State and the University of Zagreb.

CALS students and faculty also had the opportunity to attend two seminars presented by Dr. Bažok. The first was hosted by CEFS (Center for Environmental Farming Systems) entitled "Insect Pest Resistance: Novel Approach for Detection, and Effective Resistance Management Strategies" where Dr. Bazok discussed her research. The second seminar was hosted by the Dept. of Crop and Soil Sciences where Dr. Bazok discussed "Collaboration Possibilities between NC State and the University of Zagreb."

The University of Zagreb has already had relationships with NC state faculty in the past including Dr. Bažok's host, Dr. Schroeder-Moreno, who visited Croatia as a Fulbright Scholar in 2015. Dr. Bažok certainly had a busy week here with CALS and we look forward to future collaborations that were discussed during her visit.
