Career Counseling

Putting your achievements on paper can be difficult, but we are here to help.  Get feedback and advice by making an appointment online with one of our career counselors.  We also provide on-line resources to help you build your resume or write cover letters.

Interview Help

Practice your interview skills by scheduling a mock interview with one of our counselors.  You can choose to have your interview video-taped to see how you present yourself in an interview.  Call today to schedule a mock interview: 919.515.3249.

On-line resources are available to help you prepare for the big interview. We also host the annual Mock Interview Day in the spring semester. This event allows you to perform a mock interview with an industry recruiter that fits your interests.  Not only will you get to work on your interviewing skills, but you will also have the opportunity to network with recruiters from your field of interest.

CALS Career Expo

Each year over 100 recruiters attend our CALS Career Expo. These organizations are specifically geared toward the unique majors in the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences.  Meet with representatives in health care, pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, animal health, agriculture, landscaping, and more.

Career Directions Handbooks

Our Career Directions handbooks contain resources to help you achieve your career goals.  Contained in each handbook are tips for creating resumes and cover letters, samples of cover letters and resumes, interviewing tips, job search strategies, and much more.  Click on the links below to access the electronic version of your handbook.  If you would like a hard copy, stop by our office in 107 Patterson Hall.

Connect with CALS alumni and get career advice and tips with this database.  After you read the PackNet profiles, choose the individual you would like to speak with further.  You can write, phone, or email to request answers to your career questions.  PackNet is password protected and can only be viewed by CALS students and alumni.  Call our office to receive the password.
