Eligibility and Selection Criteria
NC State is a community of women and men of diverse ages, national origins, physical abilities, religions, educational interests, racial,
ethnic, and class background. Such a diverse population enriches the educational community within the University. Therefore, criteria
for selection for the Chancellor's Leadership Scholarship include leadership potential, academic achievement, personal talents, unique
work or service experience, financial need, overcoming personal adversity, and the candidate's understanding and appreciation of
diversity. Only entering freshmen are eligible to apply for this award. Applications from underrepresented groups are strongly encouraged.
Recipients for this award must be citizens or lawful permanent residents of the United States, must be admitted into an undergraduate
degree program at NC State University, and must present evidence of financial need as well as achievement and promise in both leadership
and scholarship.
Steps to Apply
To assure that you will be considered for the Chancellor's Leadership Scholarship, please thoroughly read the following instructions:
1) Apply for Admission
To be considered for the Chancellor's Leadership Scholarship, you must submit your online application for Undergraduate Admission
to NC State University no later than 5:00 PM on February 1, 2012. All Undergraduate Admission required materials must be postmarked by the
February 1, 2012 deadline.
2) Apply for Financial Aid
To be considered for the Chancellor's Leadership Scholarship, you must complete the 2012-2013 online
Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) no later than March 1, 2012.
Note: Chancellor's Leadership Scholarship applicants must demonstrate a significant level of financial need, as demonstrated by the FAFSA, in order to receive the scholarship.
3) Apply for Chancellor's Leadership Scholarship
The Application for the Chancellor's Leadership Scholarship must be completed and submitted no later than 5:00 PM (EST) on March 1, 2012.
The application contains questions regarding extra-curricular activities, community and civic affairs, awards and honors, work history, and four essays. Please give yourself ample time to complete the application in its entirety.
