How do I know if an online Masters Degree is for me?
Earning an online graduae degree has become increasingly more popular due to the flexibility of scheduling and the ability to continue full time employment. 

How do I apply?
All departments that offer a graduate program, including the Master's of Environmental Assessment distance education degree, are affliated with NC State's Graduate School.  The Graduate School maintains admission standards and exercises control over all graduate degree programs.  Visit the NCSU Graduate School Online Application to apply. 

When are applications due?
Applications are reviewed as they are submitted and admissions are granted on a rolling basis.  We recommend that all application materials be submitted prior to the dates published below. (Graduate School application deadlines refer to the last date to submit a completed application with all supporting documents.).  NOTE:  Due to the volume of applications received, we have revised the deadlines for applications for the Environmental Assessment Masters Degree. These dates are different than dates specified by the Graduate School for other programs.

How much does the program cost?
Graduate tuition for distance education programs is different than for on-campus programs.  Tuition differs for students classified as out-of-state as well.  Information can be found at the NC State Distance Education Website


Do I need to take the GRE?
Individuals applying for the Master of Environmental Assessment Degree are not required to submit their GRE Scores.  Interested individuals need to follow the graduate school guidelines and submit the remaining information by the listed deadline

How can I hear more information about the Masters of Environmental Assessment Program?
You can subscribe to the the EA Masters listserve.

You can also send an email to mj2@lists.ncsu.edu.  Leave the subject field blank.  In the body of the message type the words "subscribe ea_masters".   Send.

Can I transfer in previously taken credits?
Students can transfer in up to 12 units of previously taken credits (with restrictions).  Review the NCSU Graduate School Handbook for complete information on the restrictions.

Financial Aid and Scholarships?
Students in the Masters of Environmental Assessment program are self-supported (no research or teaching assistantships are available at this time).  Financial aid for graduate students may be available through University Financial Aid, which can help fill in the gaps between educational  expenses and available assets.
