Academic Factors - What are other important academic factors to consider?
Again, the importance of having a solid GPA and admissions test score cannot be over emphasized. However, there are other areas for improving the academic portion of your application portfolio (see Portfolio Building for suggestions). This includes but is not limited to: tutoring, joining academic honor programs and societies, research, study abroad, scholarships, etc.
Research is not required for admission but is often beneficial for demonstrating a better understanding of the principles of research and how these fit into modern medicine.
