Graduate Programs in Microbiology at NC State University offer four degree curricula. The doctoral research (Ph.D.) degree is the major focus, providing an emphasis on research and training for professional careers in science and research leadership. The Masters of Science (M.S.) research degree is also available for individuals interested in technical careers in the biotechnology and pharmaceutical industries. A non-thesis, course-intensive graduate degree (M.M.) is available for individuals already employed in government and industry.
