-I am of the firm mindset that technology is a tool to SUPPORT student learning, not REPLACE it. I would never opt to skip a 'live' class taught by a professor 'in the flesh' in favor of an online setting. Although I may appreciate the availability of lecture podcasts (to refer back to material while reviewing for exams or preparing study outlines), I do not believe that full courses should be made available online as an option for students to skip class as an alternative to live attendance.
I would like to know if NCSU has any student discounts on purchasing Microsoft 8 or devices such as tablets. I would also like to know what technology services NCSU provides.
The survey should ask people about their comfort level with accessing journal databases, Pubmed, JSTOR, etc.
