NC State Extension

The Cooperative Extensive partnership began in 1914. It is the largest outreach program at North Carolina State University. The Cooperative Extension Service is based out of the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences.
A Cooperative Extension Service has local centers in each of the one hundred counties in North Carolina. In each of the county centers, the extension agents are the bridge between the state’s people and the specialists who work at the land grant universities. The extension agents educate the public through workshops, meetings, and newsletters.

The mission of the North Carolina Extension Service is to partner with communities to deliver education and technology that enrich the lives, land and economy of North Carolinians.

The educational programs offered focus on:
·         Enhancing agricultural, forest and food systems
·         Strengthening and sustaining families
·         Developing responsible youth
·         Building quality communities
·         Conserving and improving the environment and natural resources
