Event Title: Warm Season Turf Grasses 101
Study the turf grasses that you find in SE North Carolina, including St. Augustinegrass, Centipedegrass, Zoysiagrass, and Bermudagrass. Learn how to tell them apart, the environmental factors that favor, or discourage, each, and the details on how to manage the individual grasses. Find out why one grass may perform beautifully in a particular yard, while another is likely to fail. Learn about weeds, insect pests and diseases, and how proper grass selection and management, including proper irrigation and mowing, can help discourage them.

The class will be held in room 306 of the NC State University building on the campus of the community college in Morehead City (the CMAST building). This class has limited seating, so please register to reserve your seat space. Please do not reserve a space unless you are sure you will be able to attend, and please cancel your reservation at least a week in advance if it appears you have a conflict. This class will be taught by Matt Martin, Extension Associate in Turfgrass for the Crop Science Department of North Carolina State University.
