Event Title: Scholar Invited Talk Exchange (SITE)
Description: Please join us for a series of invited talks from Texas A&M and the University of Georgia.  Post-doctoral research scholars Dr. Samantha Steelman (Texas A&M) and Dr. Juan Bustamante (UGA) will share their work on Equine Laminitis and Chagas disease respectively.  Drs Steelman and Bustamante were selected by the Post Doc Association of NCSU to showcase their work and network with our research community. 

The whole of the NCSU community is invited to attend.   The talks will take place on October 18th in the Blue Commons Room of the North Area of the Veterinary Medical School which is the main building of the CVM.  Parking will be $2.00 which you can pick up the day of the event.  Parking will be in the CVM Parking Deck located at 1061 William Moore Drive.  Please access the website: for more detailed information on the Main Building (Building 301 on the above mentioned map) and the parking deck.

The first speaker will be Dr. Bustamante at 10:30 am followed by light refreshments with Dr. Steelman's talk at 1:15 pm.  Dr. Bustamante's seminar is entitled "Treatment efficacy, biomarkers of cure and immune protection in Trypanosoma cruzi infection" and Dr. Steelman's seminar is entitled "Metabolomics in Equine Laminitis: New Insight into an Old Problem".  We hope that you can join us for what will be two very exciting talks on veterinary and medical disease research with direct application to human health.  A flyer announcement will circulate University wide soon.
