Dr. Moore grew up on a livestock ranch in Central Texas. He was active in the FFA as a high school student and earned the American FFA Degree. After graduating from Tarleton State University (Texas) with a degree in Agricultural Education he taught high school agriculture for 4 years, first in Kansas and then in Ohio. He then joined the faculty at Ohio State where he taught the Introduction to Agricultural Education course while working on his graduate degrees. After graduate school, Dr. Moore taught at Purdue University (but it was too cold); then he went to LSU (but it was too hot); so he came to North Carolina State University in 1989 and has been here every since because it is just right. Dr. Moore is a widower and has two grown children (plus two grandkids). In his spare time he enjoys geocaching.
