Windows 7 End of Life and Mac OS upgrades needed

On January 14, 2020, Microsoft will stop all security updating and patching for Windows 7. Therefore, all Windows 7 computers need to be upgraded to Windows 10 or removed from the network. Mac OSes need to be kept upgraded also. If you have a Windows 7 PC or older Mac OS, under our support, please sign up for us to evaluate your computer for the upgrade.  Schedule a date for upgrade

New Endpoint Protection Standard

On May 1, 2018, the Vice Chancellor for Information Technology issued the new Endpoint Security Standard. This standard applies to every user of NC State’s network, which includes users of University-owned resources and devices, as well as, personally owned resources and devices. For those departments managed by CAAT, all controls must be in place by June 30, 2019. In the next few weeks, we will be contacting CAAT supported departments to survey and identify those NCSU machines not yet managed by us to add them to a CMS and to make sure they are secure. There is an exception process. Register to come by with your laptop to a drop in session for a "quick add" to our management system. What changes will occur on your computer once added to a CMS?
