Students in the program develop their academic and professional careers through immersive industry experiences, professional network building, MBA and practicum project-based courses, and internships. This industry-relevant training eases graduates' transition into the biotechnology industry and enhances their ability to land a rewarding job.
Industry professionals continue to support the MMB program by providing a variety of resources including guest lectures, mentoring, practicum projects, internships and jobs.
NC State's MMB program is one of the first and most successful Professional Science Master's programs in the country. Coupling innovative graduate science training with MBA-level coursework, the MMB experience promotes students' strong transitions into bioscience careers. The University sits near Research Triangle Park (RTP), one of the country's largest hubs for biotechnology and innovative research, and the MMB program draws upon interactions with bioscience companies in RTP (and elsewhere) to offer students industry-relevant practicum projects and internships. The program also offers students the opportunity to earn an MBA degree after one additional year of study.
