Microbiome: Unseen Opportunities for Agriculture and Health

Join us for this year's Stewards of the Future conference, Microbiomes: Unseen Opportunities for Ag and Health,co-hosted by the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences, NC Agricultural Foundation, Inc. and the North Carolina Agricultural and Life Sciences Research Foundation on October 20, 2016, in Raleigh, NC.

Microbiomes are the next big thing in agricultural and life science research. Why? Because these microscopic communities of organisms control the health and well-being of plants, animals and humans. The research to understand and potentially change the characteristics of microbiomes has far-reaching effects – the ability to raise crops and food animals with efficiency and more sustainablilty, eliminating genetic diseases in humans.

NC State is proactively pursuing the potential benefits microbiomes represent for health and agriculture. We see microbiome research as game-changing, and we are striving to make North Carolina a global leader in the technology it produces.
